Topographic & Utility Surveys
In 2005, we had the opportunity to work as the on-call surveyor to complete a variety of projects. Each of these projects started with a request from a City Engineer for a schedule and cost estimate for boundary and topographic surveys. Our staff responded with proposals in three days or less. For each project we establish Washington State Plane Coordinates, South Zone, and NGVD29 datum from primary County Monumentation. We arranged and coordinated all utility locates maps. APS also wrote easement descriptions, when needed. We created detailed topographic maps, including property boundaries and designation, and on-site control. We completed the project using APWA drafting standards, on the clients sheets, and in AutoDESK 2004 format.
The City’s engineers took the drawing information and designed their projects, using our sheets as a base. They then arranged for a contractor to construct their design. The engineer then called APS to meet with the contractor and we provided a schedule and cost estimate for the construction staking. APS Survey & Mapping staked the project and updated the design drawings for the Contractor including as-builts.
